first of all I want to thank all people that gave/gives me
feedbacks on the project Cygwin Easy, I model the code in base of your
suggestions, so let me know your problems/wishes and we can discuss
them all together.
I tried Cygwin Easy 2007.03.21 on Windows Server 2008 Beta 3 and it
work very well (also in a Server Core installation), so I decided to
create Cygwin Easy for Server, a version of Cygwin Easy with all
necessary tools for a server.
The packages, that will be inside this version, are listed in
Cygwin-Easy-for-Server-2007.09alpha-packages.txt that you can find in
the section File of this group.
The list can be altered in the final version, let me know if there
are some packages useless (I thinks so) and/or some packages that I
miss and that are useful in server administration.
The target is to create an autorun CD (so not bigger than 700MB)
that let the admnistration of a server in Windows easy and light as in
Linux. You can put the CD in the drive and leave the server and then
from a far client make an ssh connection to control all the
functionalities. Also you can offer to Linux client some services that
normally a Windows server doesn't give, for example an rsync.
Obviously any Cygwin Easy version can be burned in a CD/DVD or also
put inside a pen drive and then execute "autorun.bat" from them.

PS: I'm always searching a mirror for my video
http://cygwin-easy.googlecode.com/files/Cygwin-Easy-2007.03.21-on-Windows-Vista.avi,
if you have a server, or if you know where I can ask for some space,
please let me know. On YouTube the quality of the video decrease and
the command on prompt are unreadable, so it's useless.
