Hi CSAW folks;

What is the recommended stegonography software? I would like to know what's going to be used for CSAW?

Thanks,

I'm confused by the question. Are you asking about which stego software will be used to hide data if it is even being used? You understand that I can't admit or deny that stego is being used. And if it is, then what was used.

Traditionally we have created our own stego tools, but we've been known to also use popular software.

Hi Joel;

That's what I'm asking - if the kids need to be preparing for CSAW and you plan on putting some stego into the exploited image, will you use a commonly available product for this, or your own? If your own, will the kids be able to extract the message from the image?

I downladed QuickStego and it works pretty well. There's an encryption-based stego product by the same company called QuickCrypto. See  http://quickcrypto.com/free-steganography-software.html .

Thanks a bunch. I've been talking you and the school up to the kids and other stakeholders helping me flesh out my cybersecurity class. I was VERY impressed with all of you when I was out at bootcamp.

Hi Bill,

We can't disclose if we are using stego and if, which software. I like using our own because it then gives students an opportunity to see the code. The clues are always there......

Understanding the concepts of stego will help them more.

Thank you for the kind words.
