I'd like to get cyclus up and running on my (freshly formatted) laptop. I installed ubuntu 24.10, downloaded miniconda as instructed and got cyclus installed without errors. However, when I went to run it I got some libraries not found. The messages were of the form:
cyclus: error while loading shared libraries: libicudata.so.73: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I manoeuvred around these errors (there were three libraries) by creating symbolic links for the new icu libraries as follows:
ln -s libcudata.so.74.2 libicudata.so.73
This allowed cyclus to run, but now I see:
cyclus myinputfile.xml
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "pymodule.pyx", line 10, in init pymodule
File "lib.pyx", line 1, in init cyclus.lib
ValueError: numpy.dtype size changed, may indicate binary incompatibility. Expected 96 from C header, got 88 from PyObject
Error importing 'pymodule' module
Any advice? I am not very familiar with Linux and my only experience has been as a user, not an administrator.
Best,
Geoffrey
