Dear Colleagues,

We remind you that the 5th Technical Workshop on Fuel Cycle Simulation (TWoFCS) will be held in Aix en Provence, France, from Tuesday, June 29th to Thursday, July 1st, 2021 at the Aquabella Hotel (4 Rue Jean Jaurès, 13100 Aix en Provence, FRANCE, https://www.aquabella.fr/en/). Originally planned in july 2020, the 5th Technical Workshop on Fuel Cycle Simulation, had been postponed due to the global health situation.

To foster the quality of exchanges, the workshop will be organised on-site. However, we are very aware of the sanitary crisis, and we also anticipate the possibility to organize it remotely if the sanitary situation does not allow a face-to-face edition. In this case, TWoFCS sessions could be organized from Monday, June 28th to Friday, July 2nd, 2021 to take into account the different time zones.

Additional information can be found on the workshop website: https://fcw2020.sciencesconf.org/.

The call for abstract is open. Participants willing to present an oral contribution should submit an abstract with a maximum of 400 words before March 1st, 2021linked to the following topics:

·  Fuel cycle simulation tools and physical models

·  Nuclear fuel cycle scenario studies

·  Energy transition scenario studies (including nuclear and other energy types)

·  Exploratory analysis (optimization, uncertainty, resilience / robustness, etc.)

·  Benchmarks and validation

·  Interdisciplinary studies (economics and sociology for nuclear fuel cycles and scenarios)

·  Renewables and nuclear energy modeling considerations (load following, energy storage, hybrid systems, etc.)

Abstracts must be submitted as pdf files at https://fcw2020.sciencesconf.org/Abstract acceptance will be notified before March 15th, 2021.

Authors will be invited to submit a full paper (4 to 15 pages) by June 30th, 2020. The full papers will be published together in a topical issue of EPJN (the publication process will be detailed in a future email).

Presenters and non-presenting participants are invited to register for free on the websitehttps://fcw2020.sciencesconf.org/registrationNo payment is required to attend or present but registration is mandatory.

Please feel free to forward this to anyone that may be interested in this workshop.

Looking forward to seeing you in Aix en Provence,

The TWoFCS 2021 organizing committee.
