I went into Oxford this morning from Kennington.

The Abingdon Rd was closed at the south end, probably too deep for sensible cycling. However, going via Sunningwell Rd/Wytham St/Bertie Place was ok. A little flooding on the narrow path between Bertie Place and Wytham St, but quite ridable (I got a slightly damp sock), so that should be ok. The main hazard is the steady flow of drivers doing 3 point turns at the south end of Wytham St/north end of Bertie Place - both of which have been dead ends for 50 years or more!

If anyone is entering Oxford from Kennington, the underpasses at Kennington Roundabout are flooded (previous experiences says not worth trying) due to blocked drains.

The Kennington Rd where it passes under the ring road was flooded, but fine if you cycle in the centre of the road.

The Botley Rd is flooded level with Osney Island. The footway on the allotments side is shallower, quite shallow when close to the fence/hedge.

Cheers,

James.
