"LTNs" blocking fire engines article in the Oxford Mail

Some comments of course blame the LTNs. Some more comments point out it is the illegal parking that blocked the fire engines.

I suggest people click "like" (up arrow) the comments blaming illegal parking. You do not have to register to "like" or report a comment (I've reported a few which sometimes gets the commment removed).

The illegal parking is extremely frustrating. Local Councillors warned County Officers before the LTN went in that this would be a problem, suggesting that the filters needed to be set back to enable short stay parking for the businesses at the Cowley Road end of Marston Street (and neighbouring streets) but County Officers refused to listen to local knowledge.

The other issue that isn't acknowledged is that there would be no need for emergency services to use a key to unlock the bollard had the original easy to knock over (ie bounce back up) bollards not been replaced with wooden padlocked bollards because of all the vandalism and theft.
