Hi all.

I started building my PCB. Photos from past work available on my Google+

I have a few questions. Has anyone used the RAMPS for this project? Because I bought a RAMPS 1.4. And if I had problems that could help me?
Or maybe someone has a blog, and described its construction with the use of RAMPS?

First of all I wanted to say hello to all Cycloners ;) Great project !

I Actually build one and set up autoleveling yesterday lol. Plus , I am from around your city  ;)
Anyways , for now everything works fine. I did not manage to etch a PCB yet - thats a plan for today - I still gotta learn how to use a software.
Cyryl , what exact problems do you have ?

Here is my build https://vimeo.com/98794079

It's good to know that the building is also the other Poles;)

Have you booted the machine?

Now I have one question. For the driver, there is additional space for RAMPS diode D1. If using a power supply 12V/5A have it soldered diode D1? Whether it is only required with a higher Ampere and Volt 12V> & 5A>?

Hi Cyryl,

this is taken from the page from reprapwiki: http://reprap.org/wiki/RAMPS_1.4

Definitely solder D2 in. D2, F1, and F2 are shown installed here.

D1 should only be installed if the 5A rail is powered by 12V. It can be omitted and the Arduino will be powered from USB. You will want D1 installed if you add components to print without a PC. To reiterate, D1 MUST be omitted if you are powering the 5A rail by more than 12V, or the power is not absolutely clean, otherwise you may damage your ramps.

So if you use 12V or more on the 5 amp rail you should install this i think.
Also dont know if this is right but i'm assuming if you want to "print"/mill from SD this should be installed so the arduino can be powered from the ramps or something?

hope you can use this info

Sorry for delayed response. Yes I did , I`ve actually built another machine :D

Here are vids of v1.0 :P

And here is v2.0 where I started to grasp how things work ;P

If you are going to use higher voltage than 12V you need to desolder it and power arduino from an external source - USB as an example.
For this project I use 12V only so I left D1 soldered on so I dont need to power arduino from another power source.

@Drygol może tam napiszemy po Polsku? bo mój angielski jest słaby.
Będę używać zasilacza 12V do zasilania silników i samego arduino z RAMPS. Więc rozumiem że nie muszę używać dodatkowej diody?

Widzę że masz wydrukowane to samo pudełko na RAMPS-a ;)
