Hi! My name is Marcos Bladauskas, writing from Bariloche, Argentina. I'm 18 years old and i'm in 6th year (last one before university) of a technical school, orientated in automation and systems of control. I'm building a cyclone 2.1. I have everything mounted, even the gear covers, except for the z carriage which is currently being printed because i had to use the dremel 3000 modification (In Argentina Dremel 200 doesn't exist anymore :/). So, here are my doubts:
-Endstops: I realize the cutouts in one of the side frames and in the back frame are intended to mount endstops, which i guess are for homing x,y and z. That be the case, those would be min-endstops, right? Are there no max-endstops?, or are there needed reprap alike endstop holders to mount max-endstops? Is there any configuration to be done in the firmware? I'll be using marlin in mega 2560 + ramps 1.4. And another dumb question that is probably aswered many times in the list but i couldn't find: are the endstops normal-open, or normal-closed?
-Software: I cannot get to understand how to run cnc gcode-controller. I read the bq guide but it explains how to run it somehow through java by the terminal. I'm using windows and i intend to run it all on on win7 32 bits, is there a compiled version for windows? an excecutable or something like that? I enter the github repo and i see .xml, .java and .form files... Any suggestions?
-Power consumption: Does anyone have some aproximated idea of the maximum current consumed by the motors? I have a couple of linear power sources that can give 1.5, 2 amp. and i would like to know if that's enough or if i should buy or build some more powerful stuff, maybe a switching source?
By the way, i want to thank all those guys replying and helping starters like me, you are the best!! (Carlos Garcia, Samuel Kranz, Joco, yOPERO, etc.)
Thanks in advance!
Marcos
