So Laura and I sat down and tried to come up with some different ideas as to what else we could do for fundraising. Let us know what you think...

Well we already mentioned JD's Key Club and I will be calling there tomorrow to try and set something up and figure out a date

-The Palace often supports OU sports and will let them work at concession stands to earn money at either basketball games, concerts, etc. so that's an idea..

-Max and Erma's- you reserve a day and they will supply the organization with 500 flyers and tickets. On the date, our guests would bring in the ticket and we will receive 20% of their food/beverage items.

-On Sweetest Day (Oct. 20th) we could set up a table in the OC and sell flowers, or have a kissing booth. The boys lacrosse team did the kissing booth last year and earned a couple hundred dollars... so there's another idea.

-Bowling Night (Classic Lanes Bowling Alley)- they do a 50/50 bowling bash. You sell tickets for the events which includes 3 games of bowling. Then depending on attendance, this is how we would make the money!

-Big Boys- They do celebrity server, and our club would serve the drinks and food and we would receive all tips. So if we got like everyone to come and serve and pretty much took over the restaurant we could make some good dough.

-Comedy Castle in Royal Oak- I have to look into this further, but some comedy clubs will do fundraising events, but they were closed when we tried calling, so we're going to try that again tomorrow.

-Silent Auctions- again I would have to look into this, but in the past this earned our team some good money.

-Lastly (sorry this is so extremely long) we could do a bake sale and hold it in south foundation hall and sell cookies, hot chocolate and all that shit.

alright, so there are some ideas. Let us know what you think and we will set them all up.

I think that these are pretty good ideas.

-JD's seems like our best deal especially Tues. for College Night.

-That sounds great about the Palace; I've never heard of that before,
but it sounds promising.

-Max and Erma's sounds like a good deal. 20% is pretty good if we can
sell 500 tickets.

-I like the idea of setting up a table and selling flowers in the OC.
Perhaps we could even have chocolates or something; it'd be cool if we
could get it donated or something. Kissing booth wouldn't be too bad
either.

-I like the idea of a bowling night at Classic Lanes. I'd even buy a
ticket! I love that place and I know I could get lots of people to
buy a ticket.

-Excellent idea at big boys. I"ve heard of that before.

-Everything sounds good that you've said. Also, I think that doing
some kind of softball/baseball tournament could work too. We did it
my freshman year as part of raising money for Relay for Life. All we
would have to do is find someone to play against. The way we could
make money there would be to sell concessions at the game. This game
could be played at The field across from Oakland at Auburn Hills. Let
me know if this sounds any good.

Thanks for the ideas! I'll def. help out with them.

I know some of the bike stores have donated bikes for charity and fundraising events. Even getting a bike at cost for an event might be a really good way to raise some money. We could sell tickets through local businesses too.

As an extra incentive, I've decided I will shave my legs if we manage to raise $1,000 =D

also, I'm pretty sure Rochester Bike Shop will help sponsor the club, at least with discounts for club members.  I'm going there tomorrow to work out some stuff with them..

Hey we have an invite from Bruce to come and use the
velodrome at about 5:30 Tuesday. This will probably be
one of the last times that we are going to be able to
ride. They will be selling a lot of the loaner bikes
to buy new ones, when the new ones come in, and when
exactly the old ones will be out, I don't know. So you
should come out and ride, hopefully the weather will
cooperate with us. I am planning on being there. The
track is located outside and we can't ride if it's
raining/snowing/hailing/lightning/sleeting/spitting
from the sky. (hey.. it's Michigan, anything can
happen.) I know it's midterm week, and there's a lot
going on even if you don't have midterms. But come out
for a study break, and get rid of some of that stress.
It will make you feel better. Well that's all!

So Tuesday at 5:30 or Thursday (our usual day) again
at 5:30

I'm going on a long road ride tomorrow, so I can't make it, but I'll stop by on my way home.  I'll be there thursday as long as the rain holds off.

I just remembered that I won't be able to come Thurs. either as I'm
currently rushing for Alpha Kappa Psi and I have a meeting that
night. Sat. I'm helping out with Habitat for Humanity. It kinda
sucks. Anyway, hope everyone has a good time. Later!
