Dear friends

I am emailing you on behalf of Claire Wright (Chair of B-Spoke), in my capacity as the new minutes secretary.

B-Spoke is Bradford’s cycling consultation forum which Tom Jones developed over a number of years with considerable expertise and diplomatic skill in his role as a Transport Planner.  As most of you will be aware, Tom has now left Bradford Council, and we wish him all the best with his new employer, Calderdale Council.

I have started out by combining a selection of mailing lists and adding some more names.  If you would DO NOT wish to receive these mailings, please let me know, and I shall remove your name.  Conversely, if you know of anyone who might wish to be added, feel free to forward this message and let me know their email addresses.

The main purpose of this message is to let you know that the first B-Spoke meeting in the “post-Tom era”, will be held this Monday, 19th February, at 5.30pm in Committee Room 3 at City Hall.  Tom kindly booked a number of meetings for us in advance, and this is the initial one.

An agenda will follow; and in the meantime, I attach the minutes of the last meeting.

There is a great deal happening of course, and we hope that if you do wish to become involved (or stay involved), you might have some views on the future shape of B-Spoke.  Initial points for discussion will include how members and officers of the Council and WYCA can engage with the cycling community; and also ensuring that the Council delivers on the Bradford Cycle Strategy which was launched last year.  There will also be continuing input (we hope!) from the various stakeholders on the Bradford cycling scene.

See you on Monday.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely

James Craig
