I've just been sent an update to your link
(http://forum.ctc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=58743). Having read this we
are concerened that, if true according to the link the Police can not get
the seller of the stolen bicycles details from e-bay. I have e-mailed an
Inspector that I am dealing with asking him to confirm if it is true. Once I
receive a reply we will let you know what is saaid.
Cycle re Cycle are currently working with the University of Bradford
Students Union and the Police, one of the areas is by our holding a Bicycle
Security event at the Students Union. In addition we have also got the Union
to put a stolen bike page on their web site, when a bike is reported to us
as being stolen (we have a shop on Campus) we produce a wanted poster and
the Union distribute it around Campus and put it in the Bradford Student
newspaper.I sent them details and pictures of your stolen bikes.
It seems ludicrous if the Police can not get such information from ebay, I
wonder if I put an item on ebay saying that I had committed an offence would
the Police be able to get my details from them?
Tom, please can you put this on the agenda for the next BSpoke meeting as I
feel that this must be talked about?
Regards
Chris
