to Cllr Taj Salam

Hi All,

Please see attached the draft minutes from the last B-Spoke meeting.

Whilst I know many of you will be aware by now please note that I have a new job outside of Bradford Council.  I will be moving to Calderdale Council so not a million miles away and I’m sure we will be able to stay in touch going forward but my relationship to the B-Spoke Forum will inevitably change.  I have already been in touch with key members of the forum with regard to hand over arrangements and will continue these conversations in the coming weeks.  My last day in the office will be Friday the 19th of January.

Given my leaving I have also added some notes to the minutes where there were actions against my name.

I just want to say that it’s been so great working with you all these past (up to) 8 years.  B-Spoke is a special forum and that is thanks to all of us that have made it work, evolve and improve over these years since it started in (I think!) 2010.  Yes I’ve played a part but the council officer body is only one partner.  The links forged at B-Spoke are between all the partners, the charities (national and local), volunteer groups, clubs, government agencies and individuals.  They are strong.  Keep it that way!  I’m just the guy that takes the minutes!... someone else can do that!

As I said, I’ve started to talk to people already about hand over.  The officer body may get quieter for a bit in my absence but it won’t just disappear and don’t forget cycling is a political force in Bradford now!  You have Taj as Champion and there is a requirement to report to the Environment and Waste Committee.

Anyway… I’ve droned on again!  I’ll be having some leaving drinks of course.  Please come down.  All welcome.  Haven’t decided on the date or venue yet but I’ll be back in touch with another email some time next week with details.

Cheers all,

Tom
