The Green/LD group on SCC are asking for 60mph to be cut to 40mph where Quiet Lanes are designated.

Given that these are single-track roads where motorists should be expecting pedestrians, cyclists and horses, I should have thought 40 mph was excessive.  In fact putting up signs with 40 on them might set an expectation that this would be and acceptable speed and so possibly worse than useless.
