All week they have been forecasting snow and just now there are flakes
falling on the town centre.

I cycled to work this morning. Who else is on their bike today?

Not me! - I'm letting the bus take the strain.

Me - when it gets really bad I do a combination of walking and cycling!
Very warming!

That's two polls:
1) Who cycles when it snows?
and
2)Who else is on their bike today?

Me, I cycle whatever the weather - but am off my bike today because I'm
with a fitty child (who - being currently fitty - can't cycle). Made her
walk, mind you!

It depends ...
I had 2 bad experiences last winter :
1. locally the snow got so bad I could not see or cycle, due to snow
on glasses, strong headwinds, absolute blizzard, and I had to shelter
for a few minutes until it slackened off. Rural roads are not top
priority for gritting etc either.
2. 4 very scary miles from Cambridge rail stn to the Science Park.
Cambs County Council do not grit the pavements or cycle paths in the
city and it was very, very slippery.
So I will tackle some snow, but not regardless.
Visibility as I write is about 30m so I am staying in.
Seasons greeting & happy cycling in 2010

Of course! There's another way into town?
I could've done with some gaiters or something to protect my trousers
from all the salty gunge in the cycle lanes this morning though....

I was on my bike today riding from IP2 to Claydon/Barham and back. I hope Old Norwich Road gets gritted at both Ipswich and Mid Suffolk ends tonight though.. if its really bad snow-wise may end up working from home...

Hi Everyone,

Me to but for leisure as some of the local minor roads were very hazardous but compliments to IBC for trying to keep the main arteries in the Town open. I did a bit of off road rough stuff on local bridleways on my MTB.  Very enjoyable but tough going!

All the best and compliments of the Season to all correspondents of CI.

Ray
