Is car culture the problem?

Barrister Martin Porter, who blogs as The Cycling Lawyer, certainly thinks it is. In a recent post entitled Cycling Against Car Culture, Porter argues that our justice system is biased against cyclists. He draws on his legal experience to compare how the police, prosecutors and courts have dealt with both driving and cycling causing death. It seems that bad driving has the power to cause a tragic accident, whereas similarly bad cycling is considered as obviously dangerous. If want to report bad driving or if you’ve ever been in a collision with a motor vehicle, you can report it on our Stop SMIDSY website.
