Hi all,

I hear down the grapevine that the government is about to get round to responding to a consultation on part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004.

If they adopt various groups’ recommendations we will see stricter action against traffic breaches such as idling, blocking yellow boxes, blocking footways and even going through red lights. 

The primary responsibility for responding to these offences will be taken from the police and given to councils, possibly as a way to increase their revenue.
