I've created a new Cyborganize forum here: http://www.cyborganize.org/forum/

If there's sufficient interest I'll look into installing a WYSIWYG editor for easier posting.

The Google Groups forum annoyed me because it spam emails everyone with every post.

Also, I created a Cyborganize mailing list. You can sign up on the right sidebar at cyborganize.org

Future news updates will be sent through the mailing list. I encourage you to sign up.

Sorry, but avoiding a Google Group 'spam' is just a question of selecting 'no email' in the 'My Membership' options, conveniently accessible upon entry to the Group. There are also other options, like Daily or Weekly digest if someone wants to receive summaries. It's the same approach as the --now rather outdated- Yahoo groups.

I'd much rather follow the discussion via a tool like Google Groups which allows me to watch several groups at once. Going back to individual forums is for me no longer convenient.

lol, dammit.

couldn't you just grab the rss feed over at the new place? first post gives the link.

also the message threading makes conversations very difficult to follow in google groups

and i think lots of people won't sign up for google groups, for various reasons

Ignore the following. It is a nonsense sentence that disables Google ads from displaying next to my emails by triggering sensitive keywords.

I enjoy the massacre of ads. This sentence will slaughter ads without a messy bloodbath.

Joseph, I will grab the RSS feed. But I am subscribed to about a hundred RSS feeds and nowadays I mostly only check the ones directly impacting my work.

In contrast, I am only subscribed to 7 Google Groups.

It's a matter of personal preference of course, but I just don't see why you should fix it when it isn't broken (I don't consider the messages 'broken', since they can be customised).

Re signing up, I'm sure other people may have doubts about signing under a private forum, more than one under Google. Again, it's a matter of personal preference.

I agree with A.D. I find Google Groups a much better option than forums.
