On the occasion of this discussion http://www.outlinersoftware.com/topics/viewt/3838/25 I was wondering myself whether it would make sense to skip the blog as a repository, reducing the number of tools that we use from T3 to T1.

I am not saying to skip T2 as a process, because this kind of 'polishing' of texts, i.e. focusing on one topic at a time is essential in many ways. However, for me such work can be facilitated with many writing tools other than a blog, whose editor itself is in my case not particularly helpful. The finished product would the go directly to the T1 Wiki --if it's also published elsewhere for third parties to view that's another issue.

So in my case the current procedure and associated tools would be as follows:

T3 Random long form brain dumps: ResophNotes (Windows) and AndroNoter (Android) synced via the SimpleNotes service; very simple to use and lets me work anywhere without worrying about copying files from one machine to the other.

T2 Polished texts: Brainstorm and Sense mostly. Copy finished result to Wiki.

T1 Wiki: currently testing Connected Text and Dokuwiki; the first is more simple to use and very powerful, but cannot provide sharing which may be quite important in my case.

Absolutely you can use something different than a blog for T2.

The problem would be losing a sequential, tagged record of your drafts.

Can Sense duplicate this affordance? It seems to be an intriguing little editor, when I glanced at its main page.

How are you using it with BrainStorm?

I will cogitate further on your post, and try your tools, when I get around to the next major Cyborganize update.

As far as workflow, it's quite possible to skip from T3 to T1 for a single document, but unless you're going to make that huge quality leap every time, it's better to keep the T2 step in the work flow, as you say.

Ignore the following. It is a nonsense sentence that disables Google ads from displaying next to my emails by triggering sensitive keywords.

I enjoy the massacre of ads. This sentence will slaughter ads without a messy bloodbath.

By the way, I am using T2 blogs for an additional purpose. I will create a private post with a [to proc] for important reading to be digested into notes and actions. Of course this only works for non-time-critical items.

I only use Sense / Brainstorm for editing, not as repositories. The end result goes into the wiki (or what I would call the T3 relational repository).

It would be great if all editors and repositories were modular; I envisage being able to right click on my draft and select "Edit with Sense" or "Edit with Brainstorm". I would then have all the benefits of a dedicated writing environment within the relational repository. For the moment it's copy and paste.

Of course if the texts are small, I will use the repository's native editor to get it over with.

That should be the "T1 relational repository"

Makes sense, that can work
