I was really surprised to see the list of finalist for our new dean position at GCC. What do you all think of our choices? (at the bottom) This is an important position for us, as you know we are trying to get our CTLE going and this person will be in charge of that area, among others.

Fellow Faculty,

I wanted to give everyone a bit more detail regarding the public forums for the Dean of Instruction. The Dean of Instruction will be responsible for the following areas:

1. Honors Program

2. Dual Enrollment

3. Center for Teaching and Learning

4. Program Review

5. Developmental Education

6. Service Learning

7. Academic Strategic Plan

If you have anyy interest in these areas or are currently active in these areas then I encourage you to make plans to attend the public forums on the 29th.  You will get to meet the candidates, hear them speak on Developmental Education and have a chance to ask questions.

We're you expecting to see other names? I have given up on figuring out the hiring process at MCCD.

Kathleen used to (may still be) the English department chair at EMCC. That's all I've got!

Yes, Kathleen is the Arts and Composition chair at EMCC.  She wrote our HLC self-study report.

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
I am excited at the possiblility of Eric Leshinskie becoming one of the academic deans on our campus. I have worked with him on grants, faculty development and even presented at NISOD with him. He has a wide range of experience and depth of knowledge that he can offer.
If you have time, come see for yourself on Tuesday, November 29th, when the candidates will be presented in an open forum.

I agree with Mary Jane.  When I was at MATEC, we worked with Eric on different projects for over 4 years.  The people who worked under him enjoyed his leadership.  He has a great deal of knowledge and was easy to work with.
