MacOS Finder Window Dependency and Open Connections

Cyberduck opens a Finder window when I open a connection -- which isn't always necessary for my uses.  But, when I close the Finder window, it disconnects.   

Is there a way to remove/change this behavior?   Would it be reasonable to allow the connection to remain without a necessary open Finder window (or have I missed something).
