Hello I am trying to resize the file name column and it won't resize all the others will but that one won't. It is taking up over half the browser.

Shrink the Filename column by expanding the size of other columns (by dragging the right edge to the right).

Here is a link to a video I made to help everyone better understand the issue: https://youtu.be/_O9xYRQk0KE

Hi Steve,
There is no issue. Read what I wrote more carefully, and see the example below, where I've greatly expanded both Modified and Size, and switched them so you can more easily see what's happening, because Size is right-justified.
Hope that helps,
John

I decided to do another video since it seems my last one didn't explain the issue enough.
As you can see it is impossible to resize the file name column as you would any program that uses columns. For some reason you don't get that option. The video shows it clearly and with each column.
For consistency this is Windows 10 Home with the latest updates.

Hi Steve,
Again, there is no issue.
It doesn't work as you expect, but it does work.
Just follow my instructions.
How that helps,
John

There is no one GUI standard. Every platform (Windows, Mac, Linux, etc) is different, and GUI is not even standard within a platform. The GUI of current Microsoft Word, for example, is wildly different from earlier versions (and not for the better in my opinion).

When apps like Cyberduck are written for more than one platform, they will normally use cross-platform software libraries (e.g., Qt, GTK, WxWidgets) that often differ from common libraries (and between each other) in order to optimize performance and produce consistent app behavior across platforms.

It just comes down to personal taste. If you don't like the GUI or behavior of Cyberduck, then use something else, because "it's not a bug, it's a feature." Since you prefer Filezilla, that's what you should use. I personally prefer the Cyberduck GUI. I find the FileZilla GUI dated and clunky. "Different strokes for different folks."

I understand how to resize the File Name column, but in this case I have two columns that have been placed inadvertently off the screen to the right.  Both "size" and "modified" are checked and active, but they are too far to the right to even see.  I have tried lots of resizing and other things, but they remain invisible.  A screen shot is attached; is there any workaround for this?  Thank you.Cyberduck Screen.jpg

Looks like you've accidentally deselected the Size and Modified columns.
Right-click on the column heading to the right of Filename, and select them from the popup menu.

They are definitely selected, but they are way, way off to the right and - for me - impossible to access.  Cyberduck Screen 2.jpg

Try:
  1. Deselect those columns.
  2. Close and restart Cyberduck.
  3. Reselect all possible columns.
If that doesn't work:
  1. Uninstall Cyberduck.
  2. Reinstall Cyberduck.
Hope that helps,
John

Thanks so much for your help.  As you see below, they are all selected, but the two I really need - size and modified - are way off the screen and cannot be seen or accessed.  I've already uninstalled and reinstalled, but when I open the site that I need the geography is the same.

This might be a limitation or bug in the GUI toolkit used by Cyberduck that is triggered by something in your system.
You might want to try some (much) older versions to see if they work correctly for you: https://cyberduck.io/changelog/
If so, and you can pin down the version when it stopped working correctly, it could be much easier to fix.
Hope that helps,
John

Thank you again, I'll try that.
