Interesting talk on just how good computers are getting at certain tasks, and (at the end) how it may force us to confront aspects of our socioeconomic policies that just won't work when you have exponentially improving machines...

I still haven't read Jaron Lanier's Who Owns the Future?, but the end of the TED talk reminded me of what I heard about Lanier's concerns regarding societal dislocation in the wake of self-driving cars etc. etc.
