Schoolgirl's fake Orkut profile in cop scanner

has complained that her fake profile has been posted on the online
community portal Orkut.
This is the second incident involving misuse of the website Orkut in
Delhi in less than three weeks. Last month, an airhostess had moved a
court here alleging that someone has opened an account in her name on
www.orkut.com wherein she is being described as soliciting for sex.
The teenager's family received the first call almost a month ago where
the caller wanted to speak to the girl. Similar calls poured in later,
the police said, adding all the callers referred to her profile posted
on the website Orkut.
The family had a harrowing time when two strangers knocked at their
door a fortnight ago and said they got the address from the posting.
"We are investigating the complaint. Orkut is a free portal and people
tend to misuse it. However we are not contemplating any action against
them if they cooperate with us in our investigation," a senior Crime
Branch official said
