Orkut, the social networking Web site has played host to a number of
controversial issues. First it was Shivaji Community fiasco. Then on
Orkut, a fake profile of a Delhi school girl revealed that she was a
'Sex Teacher'. And it did not end there. Now,reportedly, around 60
students of Bombay Scottish High School, a Mahim-based school have
used the Google-owned social networking site, Orkut, to post insults
against the principal, DPN Prasad.
These students have contributed to the post which has aptly been named
'All those who hate DPN'. The obviously angry Bombay Scottish students
through their posts have alleged that the Principal together with the
Vice Principal have ruined the image of the school.
After learning about these insulting posts, the principal, instead of
punishing them decided to call in the cyber cell cops to talk to the
students about keeping a safe distance from sites such as Orkut.
In a statement, DPN Prasad said he wants the Mumbai Police Cell to
educate students about cyber crime and its implications. He also plans
to invite Cell officials to address students in June this year
