Dear friends,
does anyone have literature on how Mary Catherine Bateson and her father, Gregory Bateson, described narratives as a way to transmit cultural knowledge and meaning across generations?

The Batesons define narrative reports as a way to capture the complexity and richness of human experiences, convey cultural patterns, and provide insight into an individual and collective identity. They saw narratives as a way to understand how people make sense of their experiences and how cultural knowledge is transmitted.

The Batesons' guidelines for narrative reports emphasized the importance of capturing the full context of experiences and situations, paying attention to the emotional and subjective aspects of the data, and including the perspectives of multiple participants in the report. They also stressed the importance of reflection and self-awareness on the researcher's part, as well as ethical considerations in the collection and representation of the data.

I remember these facts from way back, but I am can get my books to look it up where Bateson has written about narrative reports?

Best Regards,

Lucas
