I have X1 service and my own netflix account. I watch Netflix using my own account through the X1 Netflix Apps. Last week when I had a whole system refresh, when I go to Netflix Apps it automatically login with another user account (I don't know who she is but I can see her netflix registered email address and profiles). I acn watch netflix with her account but I want to use my own account. Comcast tried resetting the box, I reloaded the app and as soon as it comes up, it uses her account. I can force logout the account from the X1 DVR box (Arris AX103ANM) and login with my netflix account. But as soon as I logout, it switches to her account. Second problem is from the small companion tv boxes I use in other TVs, I cannot login to Netflix with my account. It piggybacks to the main DVR box and it thinks her account is the main account.
call during daytime east coast time 800-comcast and select billing. explain the problem to the agent and ask them to remove and reprovision your account then add the device back to your account. fixed?
I just got off with the customer service folks. They will try a full reset of my account at 2 am today. Will take approximately an hour and then I can check. They also scheduled a tech visit (although its restricted due to covid-19) between 1 to 3 pm later today. If the full reset works, then I can just cancel the appointment. I will post the results here.
Hi, i only yesterday got around to resetting my Mail password to discover several emails telling me about Netflix being added to my account and to "click here" to register. When i clicked, the link said there was a problem.
I called VM Support and they didn;t appear to understand my issue and stated "your registration will be fixed within 5 days". Don;t know how that'll work as VM has no idea what my Netflix account info is.
I've signed out of my Netflix account (everywhere) and reset my password so i'm happy that what's showing on the Netflix channel and App is not my account (it hasn't been hi-jacked). I would though like to view Netflix on my VM box so need the other account to be gone...
Click OK on your 360 remote on the screen that you just posted. On the next screen use the navigation buttons to move all the way across to the left. It opens another side panel. Don't worry about not being able to understand the language/symbols on this screen or the following ones.
I recently changed TV and lost the Paramount+ App (from the TV Apps) and found the App on the VM Box. I then saw the Netflix App and thought, well why not use it, especially as the basic access is free.
Think i have a Tivo Box, the settings above aren;t visible to me. I can select "Home > Settings" but there's nothing obvious to me to find Netflix (I've been thru most of the menu options within Settings).
@RokuKariza-D Not an ideal solution, but I created a new roku account then factory reset the roku and signed in with the new account. Now Netflix works. So looks like an issue with the old roku account somehow. At least I can watch Netflix. LMK if Roku is not planning on fixing this and I'll put in a request to delete my old account.
I can log into Netflix and view previews. But, when I attempt to play individual episodes it loads up to 25% and never plays the episode. I have restated my Roku, deleted the Netflix channel, signed in and out and restarted my modem and router to no avail. Not sure if this is a Netflix or Roku issue.
You mentioned that you already tried removing the app. Did you restart your Roku device before re-installing the channel? That step is crucial when performing the troubleshooting. If you haven't tried the suggested order (remove > restart > re-install), we would recommend giving it a shot once again.
Thanks for your reply. The issue is only occurring for Netflix. I tried the suggested order of removing the app, restarting the Roku and re-installing, but that did not work either. I have done the system restart from the settings many multiple times as well. I'm not sure what the issue is here.
When problems are confined to a particular channel, it may be that the channel didn't install properly, that it didn't update correctly, or that the installation has otherwise gotten corrupted. A reinstall may fix the problem, so give it a try.
Remove/reinstall procedure:
Since you are still unable to play videos from one channel after attempting the suggestions above, videos from other channels play fine, contact the channel provider's customer support team to report the issue and get help. Channels on Roku are maintained by the channel developer themselves. In this case, there's likely an issue within that specific channel that needs to be addressed with an update from them.
You can hardly throw a stone at a major Internet company these days without that stone's password and personally identifying data being hacked. Data breaches have become the norm, and for average Internet users, that means an increased need for vigilance.
On Wednesday, an unexpected e-mail alert from Netflix made me wonder if the media-streaming giant had become the latest victim of a giant data break-in. That wasn't the case. Instead, I found myself facing rather the opposite scenario: a tech company offering proactive support. But did Netflix's vigilant take on my account's security tip over into scare-tactic territory?
I began to prep a dinner on Wednesday evening when I saw an e-mail alert on my phone saying, "Netflix password reset required." It's the kind of notice that might make anybody toss their bottles of cumin and dill aside and rush to a computer.
We have detected a suspicious sign-in to your Netflix account. Your Netflix account may have been compromised by a website or a service not associated with Netflix. Just to be safe and prevent any further unauthorized access of your account, we've reset your password.
"I don't see any streaming in your account in the past seven days," the rep, Alberto, wrote. "What we can do to make you feel more safe is to send you a password reset e-mail, and I can also deactivate all the devices that are now logged in your account."
"Well, honestly, I would feel safer if Netflix didn't send out false alerts like this," I wrote in response. I pressed for more information as to what triggered a "suspicious sign-in" notice. After putting me on hold for some time, Alberto returned with this (unedited) explanation:
Thanks to you for holding.. I was checking on my end and confirmed that the system sometimes send an email from in...@mailer.netflix.com that alerts customers about possible unauthorized access and recommends that they change the password for their account. This doesn't mean that the account was compromised, it is more like a heads up and a recommendation to change the password to prevent that from happening.. Netflix takes our customers' security very seriously, keeping your data safe is among our top priorities. While we can't always say how an account was compromised, some common ways are phishing emails or unsecure websites. If you Click Here you will find more info about how to keep the account secure..
At first blush, I felt like this explanation didn't quite mesh with what the alert had told me. Was there indeed a suspicious sign-in? If it's possible that the account wasn't compromised, then what's going on here?
"Of course, I get your point," Alberto wrote. "However, I can see that the email states only that a suspicions sign-in was detected and that the account may have been compromised, but I don't think it's confirming it. But I see what you mean and I totally get you." He said he would "pass the word along" to Netflix higher-ups.
