See you in class!!

I have been dancing my whole life but got serious about choreography when I was eighteen years old. Something just happened where I became obsessed with choreographing steps and then routines and then whole pieces of work. I just love it and since I was already dancing it just became another aspect of my passion.

What I enjoy most about my work is the process of creating something and then seeing how it turns out on show day. It can be very stressful and sometimes seem impossible but I always make it work out and I have an amazing team.

I worked on Glee for only three episodes, it was early on in my career before I started choreographing professionally; I worked as a dancer. I had an amazing time and even got to work with Kristin Chenoweth!

In Los Angeles I hold two open classes a week, Fridays 7:15pm at International Dance Academy and Sundays 12:00pm at Playground LA on Melrose. I also travel the country with Revel Dance Convention as well as host my own classes all over nationally and internationally.

My class is intermediate/advanced level. Mostly we are learning a routine and in the routine we cover lines, footwork, rhythm, musicality, texture grooves and much more. My class is well rounded and can be taken by all ages.

With almost 30 different classes, Fallis offers a wide variety of dance styles and proficiency levels and welcomes dancers of all ages, from ages 2 and up. Her studio is located in a renovated barn with more than 2000 square feet of light-filled space with high ceilings, a new floor and many mirrors to allow students to see their progress.

With a full calendar of such varied classes, Fallis spends a lot of her day time planning the activities and objectives for each group. During classes she is ably assisted by daughter Kennedy, herself an experienced dancer, and as well as other experienced students and graduates from her programs. All instructors are trained and experienced in each style of dance they teach and embrace the philosophy of respect and personal development. It may be a dance studio, but in the process of learning how to use their bodies to express themselves, students are also building confidence and learning to be kind and supportive to their classmates, and acquiring self-discipline and motivation to reach their goals.

Groove Therapy mainly offers beginner hip hop dance classes and a mixed bag of other street dance beginner classes.

Street dance is any form of dance that is created outside the formal dance studio context. So think of hip hop, vogue, dancehall, Afrobeat, reggaeton and house.

A Groove Therapy class will often focus mostly on the basics of grooving (how to nod your head, bounce, body roll and generally add flavour and soul to your dancing), combined with party dances and dance floor steps (like the running man, moonwalk, hip mobility and isolation techniques).

Freshgroove is firmly committed to helping protect the health and safety of our dancers and staff. We are closely monitoring the changing situation, and complying with Public Health guidance. Click here to see our updated Covid-19 plan.

We are a competitive dance studio located in Richmond BC, and now also in Vancouver, BC. Our dance teams compete in local, national and international competitions and have brought home many medals and trophy including 1st place at HHI representing Canada.

We love children and they love our studio. We have students ranging from age of 5 to 21. Some of our students spend most, if not all, of their free time at our studio, in various tech classes, training with their team(s), watching other teams train, and just enjoy the company of other dedicated dancers.
