Extra Roster Spot(s)

With the expansion to a 2 qb format, teams struggle to keep high profile players during by weeks and injuries. Due to this there have been a request to add 1 or 2 more roster spots to account for this.

Only one person has voiced interest in expanding the roster size. This proposal will not pass without more support. Anyone else?

Also, start thinking about keepers. The keeper deadline is usually 1 week from the draft date (9/6) so that’s this Monday (8/30) at 10 pm ET.

Keepers are due tonight at 10 pm ET. You should be able to do this through the espn fantasy app. Click on my team->Team info (top right on iphone app)->edit keepers.

So half the league didn’t put in keepers??  There is an advantage to seeing who others keep, so I’m thinking we need to implement some sort of punishment.  

Something like you don’t get to make your last draft pick and you must go to waivers after week 1.

I think that punishment takes away from the fun and sportsmanship of the league, and I don't say that just because I was late. I know deadlines are important. However, I'll tell you my keepers or take any punishment enforced on me.

Per punishment, if we agree we want something like that we need to agree in advance and implement it next year.  In my own world, I got thrown off getting girls to bed and then getting things ready for the next school day.  Life happens, doesn’t mean deadlines aren’t important, but I didn’t have a chance to look at the keepers list and certainly didn’t impact my decision (Niall can confirm bc I texted him my 3 keepers before the deadline).

My suggestion for next year is we set a deadline for putting in keepers but don’t run keepers on the site until the commish has confirmed everyone had entered their keepers.  Honor code on the commish that he/she will have already entered his/her keepers and therefore is not benefiting.  If someone hadn’t yet entered keepers by the deadline, Commish can then ping them to follow through.  If another 24 hours pass, then we can start to think about penalties.  Requires a little bit more work from the commish but not a heavy lift in my opinion.

Fully agree there is an advantage of seeing other's keepers, but I doubt anyone did I intentionally either. Hopefully those of us who forgot didn't look at anyone else's keepers and change what they were planning on doing. That would be a dick move.
