Dublin is becoming well established as a tech hub in Europe with a young but growing and very active startup community and culture. Many leading tech companies and successful startups – such as Google, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, DropBox and Microsoft amongst others - have chosen Dublin as their base outside the US due to the wealth of talent and opportunities here. This is further evidenced by the rapid growth of the Web Summit which has become Europe’s largest tech conference in the last couple of years.

In terms of language technology and machine translation, much of the core technology in IPTranslator was develop within leading research groups in Dublin City University such as the Centre for Next Generation Localisation (CNGL).
