This recruitment is being established to fill a vacancy in OC Waste & Recycling and may be used to fill any vacancies that occur throughout the County of Orange. This list may also be utilized to fill positions of lower classifications within the same occupational series. OC WASTE & RECYCLING OC Waste & Recycling is an organization dedicated to meeting the solid waste disposal needs of Orange County through efficient operations, sound environmental practices, strategic planning, innovation and technology. OC Waste & Recycling operates 3 active landfills, 4 household hazardous waste collection centers, monitors 21 closed landfills, and administers municipal solid waste collection, recycling, and planning for County unincorporated areas. ![]() POSITION INFORMATION:
OC Waste & Recycling desires to lead the way in the solid waste industry with innovative technology. OC Waste & Recycling/Information Systems (IS) currently has several .Net web based applications it desires to develop various systems. IS also has several legacy ASP applications which require conversion to ASP .Net technology. OC Waste & Recycling/IS continually strives to maximize the use of existing computer resources while implementing new technology to streamline processes, reduce costs and improve customer service. The responsible stewardship of information technology strengthens OC Waste & Recycling's competitive advantage and helps to achieve OC Waste & Recycling business goals. Experience/Education:
Two (2) years performing systems analysis, maintenance and
administration at a level that is comparable to the County of Orange
class of Information Technologist I. Possession of a bachelor's degree
from an accredited college or university with major coursework in
computer science, information systems or a closely related field that
has provided the candidate with a sound conceptual understanding of
information technology concepts is desired.

OC Waste & Recycling Human Resources will screen all application materials to identify qualified candidates. After screening, qualified candidates will be referred to the next step and notified of all further procedures applicable to their status in the competition. Application Rating (Refer/Non-Refer): Application materials will be rated by a panel of job knowledge experts for those qualifications most needed to perform the duties of the job. The more qualified candidates will be referred to the next step. This is a competitive process; therefore, be thorough in your responses. Qualification Appraisal Panel Interview (Oral Interview) (Weighted 100%): Candidates will be interviewed and rated by a panel of job knowledge experts. Each candidate's rating will be based on responses to a series of questions designed to elicit the candidate's qualifications for the job.
