The graphics in the Zero Waste manual for Bhutan are very cool.  Straightforward and to the point...

Dear All

Wanted to share this amazing ZW publication from one of our partners in Bhutan. It has some amazing graphics that could also inspire some of the work we are trying to do. Please do send your thoughts and appreciation to Pia Lindstorm below.

Dear Zero Waste Friends,

It is with pleasure we announce that the Samdrup Jongkhar Initiative (SJI)
Zero Waste Training Manual was launched on 5th June 2013 on World
Environment Day by the Samdrup Jongkhar Thromde (Municipality).

This new Zero Waste Training Manual has been specifically developed for
the Bhutanese context, and gives an accessible and user friendly
introduction to the concept of Zero Waste and how it can be applied in any
community and/or institution in Bhutan. It can be used in community
meetings as well as for trainings in institutions, ranging from schools,
hospitals, to government offices and religious bodies. The Zero Waste
Training Manual is used as part of our awareness programme when
implementing our SJI Zero Waste Project in designated villages, but with
an increasing demand from various communities and institutions to start up
their own Zero Waste initiatives, SJI aims to distribute the manual also
to a wider audience. It is available on our webpage (www.sji.bt) for
download or by following this link:

http://www.sji.bt/assets/PDFs/News/zero-waste-manual-small.pdf

We strongly encourage any feed-back on the material, as our intention is
to continuously develop and update its content to make it as relevant and
applicable as possible to local communities and to Bhutanese society at
large. Soon a Dzongkha (local language) version of the manual will be
available.

We hope that this manual will inspire also other stakeholders in the
Himalayan region to develop similar materials to facilitate upscaling.
Please feel free to use and build on this material as you desire!

Zero Waste is possible! :-)

With much love and faith from Bhutan,

Pia Lindström
