Our Client provides packaged meals with the highest standards of food safety. The food products are delivered twice weekly via Fed-Ex right to the customer’s doorstep in temperature controlled boxes to ensure the week’s feast is consistently fresh and delicious. Delivery drivers will work with other members of the distribution team for customer satisfaction. A driver’s primary job is to operate their own motor vehicles or company ones to transport cooler bags containing food products.  Daily tasks and delivery routes are assigned by regional delivery manager, the number of bags on route vary day to day; however, when actually delivering the coolers, work is performed without immediate supervision. Performance is evaluated upon results.

Description:

*Inspect company vehicle tires, lights, brakes, fluids, etc. to ensure safe performance with preventive maintenance in mind

*Deliver orders via the most effective route to ensure complete orders are delivered according to established time frames and customers’ needs. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve delivery times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

*Maintain communication with company during deliveries to ensure any updated instructions are received

*Document delivery according to company directives and report any discrepancies to company

*Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required

*Follow company policies and procedures

*Picks up items (cooler bags, keys, access passes) also vary per day. *Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

*Delivers superior customer service and accuracy and attention to detail

*Professional demeanor and able to handle difficult customers with diplomacy and tact

*Working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations

*Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills

*Have access to a vehicle (may not be necessary- we have a fleet of vehicles but may require the driver to take their own)

*Have access to a cell phone.

*Bend or stoop repeatedly.

*Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely

*Able to carry up to 20 lbs.

*Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.

*Learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation mainly in an on-the-job training setting.

*Understand and follow oral and written instructions in the English language.

*Work cooperatively with other employees and independent contractors.

*Pass a felony background check

*Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

 

Education: High school diploma/GED preferred

Experience: Must have at least 3 years of driving experience, positions require that each driver own and drive their registered, insured vehicle or ours..
