Hi,
I need to cite cvxpy and cvxopt in my phd thesis and new
publications. Is there something
like http://cvxr.com/cvx/citing/ for cvxopt ?
Thank you very much,
Best regards,
Caglar Ari

Caglar,

Thanks for asking.    The license does not include an obligation to cite the software in publications, but of course we appreciate it when people do.

In our own papers we use the reference

M. S. Andersen, J. Dahl, and L. Vandenberghe. CVXOPT: A Python package for convex optimization, version 1.1.5.  Available at abel.ee.ucla.edu/cvxopt, 2012.

For an overview paper that describes the general purpose and gives examples of customized solvers, we cite the following book chapter

M. S. Andersen, J. Dahl, Z. Liu, and L. Vandenberghe. Interior-point methods for large-scale cone programming.  In S. Sra, S. Nowozin, and S. J. Wright, editors, Optimization for Machine Learning, pages 55–83. MIT Press, 2012.

Best regards,

Lieven

Hi Guys,
Are these references still up to date? (aside from the URL).
Cheers,
Sylvain

Hi Sylvain,

The references are still up to date. If you use version 1.1.6, I guess the year should be 2013:

M. S. Andersen, J. Dahl, and L. Vandenberghe. CVXOPT: A Python package for convex optimization, version 1.1.6.  Available at cvxopt.org, 2013.

Best,
Martin

Great, thank you for this great piece of software. You could put a bibtex entry on cvxopt's wesite.
Best,
Sylvain
