Greetings all,
Last year we had a terrific Solar Cooking Festival at The Discovery Center with just less then a month from idea to event. Next year we want to make it the fabulous event it should be. Fresno is one of the best places in the USA to solar cook; both because of our abundant sunshine but also because of our air quality problems. Other factors include poverty issues and our diverse cultural make up. Our solar cooking group is currently one of the most active in this country. So, lets put Fresno on the map for something positive and show everyone that Fresno Cooks Solar.
Here is an abbreviated agenda for our meeting this Thursday Oct. 25, 2012 at Woodward Park Library, 944 E. Perrin Ave., Fresno 93720 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
6:30 Premeeting / trace cook-its ( bring a 3'x4' piece of cardboard if you want to do this).
7 pm Meeting - Agenda
Status Report - membership, funds, cooker for The Discovery Center
Old Business- 1) 2013 Solar Cooking Festival Need to plan, committees, ideas, suggestions, entry fees/donate cans of food ?
Advanced Planning Sponsors, Advertizing, press releases, getting more people involved, other?
Friday Bands, dancers, science/sky watching, Parasol Parade, venders, Discovery Center open ?
Saturday Solar cooking demos, classes, solar cooked food tasting, children's cookie baking, Parasol Parade, Me-woke village Venders, Solar Science, raffle, cactus garden tours, other?
" evening music, dancers, venders, other?
Sunday Solar Cooking Contests Professional Cooks Face-off, Amateur Cooks, Prizes, judges, food samples?, Parasol Parade, other ?
Whole event; decorations, greeters, handouts, what else?
2) Holiday Cheer November 17, 2012 at the San Joaquin River Parkways River Center starts at 10 am need volunteers to help.
New business Future meetings, Cooking Classes, becoming a nonprofit, other?
Please come or get in touch; we will need everyone's help to make this Festival and our Solar Cooking Group fun for everyone.
