JUST OVER ONE WEEK AWAY – THE ANNUAL CENTRAL VALLEY GET-TOGETHER OF PHILOSOPHY PROFESSORS!

Please let me know if you would like CVPA to invite a new colleague to this list-serve or have your colleague visit the list-serve web page for more information.

Don’t miss this opportunity to meet colleagues, discuss common issue with student transfer opportunities and challenges, while enjoying the usual amazing presentations.

This organization started in 1998 after discussions with Karen Bell (CSUF), Jack Pitt (CSUF), and Bob Boyd (FCC).  Their vision was for a San Joaquin Valley forum for exchanging ideas regarding philosophy and the teaching of philosophy.   A questionnaire distributed to philosophy professors at colleges and universities from Bakersfield to Sacramento revealed an interest.

Purpose:  The purpose of the Central Valley Philosophy Association is to stimulate dialogue among philosophers within the Valley by:

1) providing a sympathetic forum for philosophers to try out their creative ideas;

2) sharing responses to difficulties arising from technology, and the academic institutions themselves to the teaching of philosophy.

Take a look at the presentation at our first get-together!
