APPOINTMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

GOVERNOR APPOINTS NEW EXECUTIVE OFFICER FOR

BOARD OF VOCATIONAL NURSING AND PSYCHIATRIC TECHNICIANS

Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. has announced the appointment of Elaine G. Yamaguchi as the new Executive Officer for the California State Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT), effective January 2, 2018.

Ms. Yamaguchi comes to the Board from the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) where she worked in Legislative Affairs as the Communications and Projects Manager since 2013, and as a Legislative Analyst from 2007 to 2013. Prior to that, she worked for the California State Library as the Director for the California Civil Rights Public Education Program, as Special Assistant to the Speaker/Senior Consultant for the Office of Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, as Managing Director for the Center for Asian American Media, and as Associate Director for University Affairs at the University of California Student Association.
