New CVGS Director Named

to Central Virginia Governor's School for Science and Technology
Dr. Steve Smith will become the new CVGS Director on June 1st. Dr.
Smith has an extensive background in science and mathematics. He is
currently the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction for the
Lynchburg City Schools. Dr. Smith has served in the school system as
a teacher, principal and gifted education coordinator. Tentatively,
it looks like Dr. Smith will be teaching a section of the Junior
Research Course and Connections in Mathematics. Welcome Dr. Smith, we
wish you the best in your new position!
