Also, if you need to re-install OpenCV or upgrade to the latest version, running the attached script should do the job. It'll install all the dependencies you need along with the contrib. If the permissions of the file are reset on downloading, running 'chmod u=rx opencvInstall.sh' in the file directory should solve the problem. However, I'll always recommend trying your own scripts and figuring Linux out
