Greetings everyone!

A big thank you to everyone who came out to the Winter Forum! We enjoyed an engaging talk from Herbalist Guido Masé about the medicine in our backyards and how to incorporate it into our food, and the working groups' discussions led to some exciting projects and goals:

Food Access, Education, and Public Health
- Focus on completing the Garden in Every School initiative in the three remaining schools
- Enhance school garden programs by creating a follow-up system and an online portal for teachers and garden managers to share information and resources
- Promote access to affordable food through education and gleaning

Home Foods Systems
- Launch a Capital Area Garden Network

Food Hubs, Economic Development, Land Use Planning and Conservation
- Continue work with Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission to incorporate food systems planning into the next regional plan

More detailed notes from the event are attached, and stay tuned for information about follow-up meetings to keep the momentum going!
If you weren't able to attend the event and are interested in getting involved, it's not too late! Feel free to contact us at 802-262-6273 or email Hannah at hrec...@montpelier-vt.org

Thanks again for your work and enthusiasm around these important issues, and save the date of March 20th for our next quarterly meeting, more information to follow.

Many thanks from the CVFSC coordinating team!
