CVC COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Friday 9th May 2014

ATTENDED:- Karen, Sarah H, Frances, Sarah MJ, Keith, Phil, Jean

APOLOGIES: Ursula, Bronwyn

1. AGM - Emails sent to club members

• Agenda & previous AGM minutes (KV)
• Attendance doodle by Wed 21st May (PG/KV)
• Volunteer nomination votes for new committee to Chairman by Wed 21st May
• MVP & Most Consistent Beginner votes to coaches by Wed 21st May
• Proposed changes to Club Constitution  - votes to secretary by Wed 21st May

Proposed changes discussed 1. Junior age range defined

                                                  2. Membership fees

                                      3. Distribution of constitution

Other policies to be finalised included Disciplinary procedures for late/non-payment of fees.

Provision of club welfare officer needed for juniors - training course to be followed (SH).

FB to investigate the role of a Club Welfare officer.

FB to source a Risk Assessment form for the club to use.

Provision of member’s request form for help with paying fees (KV)

VE proposed affiliation fee discussed - committee/club thoughts needed

2. ARU collaboration with CVC proposals (JJ)

•  Benefits of higher level performance NVL teams and future growth for club  in attracting higher numbers & quality of players
• JJ to feedback positive interest to ARU

3. - Two replacement nets/antennas to be bought for Perse/Manor (KM/SH)

    - Volunteer needed to look after equipment / cupboards.

4. County Women’s interest in Suffolk/Norfolk/Essex league (KM to contact)

5. AGM After Party update

• SMJ to update website
• PG to send email and doodle out to club re AGM agenda/minutes and attendance.

6. Club Kit Update

• NVL men might need to top up some team shirts - JJ to collect shirts from team players.
• The committee reviewed Bronwyn’s proposal and voted for the new design but if possible, please can we make the words ‘volleyball club’ thinner/smaller so that the whole logo looks more like a circle? (BM to action)
• PG will look for a supplier with a shop front option while we put Kitlocker on hold.

7. Beginner’s match enquiry - Sept 2014

• CUVC runs a popular Friday league - we could enquire to see if they have places available for us from Sept. FB to follow up.

AOB

1. Walton Shield organised by Cambridge volleyball association to be held on 18 May at Perse. CVC have been invited to join.

2. Outdoor volleyball:

• JJ proposed to run an outdoor league (4 vs 4) in June/ July. Committee agreed. JJ and Kelsey will follow up.
• Club’s outdoor nets: there are 3, 2 really old ones and 1 newer one which resides at Rolf’s.

Hey,

This is mainly for Frances, but I noticed on the 2014/15 VE calendar div 3 men and women are scheduled to play on different Sundays.  We therefor would not need to necessarily book manor on Saturdays for NVL to keep home fixtures separate.
