Hi Spring Leaguers

It all comes down to this...finals night is this Thursday!

The overall standings after three weeks of ladder play are below. As in previous weeks, for the finals night you will be in pools of 3 set according to how you did across the entire tournament (excluding week 1), not just on the outcome of last week.

There are some pretty significant changes to the organisation this week so please read on carefully:

Venues/Court times:

Unfortunately we don't have access to USC this week, or to any other sports halls in Cambridge (believe me I've tried...), so we will have to play two rounds of competition at Perse. This means running one one set of matches from 6:30-8:15pm and another from 8:15-10 pm, as below. I'm really sorry for this but there are no other options, I hope it isn't too much trouble and you can all make the times work.

Perse 6:30-8:15 pm
Court 1: Pool 4
Court 2: Pool 5

Perse 8:15-10 pm
Court 1: Pool 1
Court 2: Pool 2

Pool 3 will play at Manor from 8-10 pm as usual.

Structure:

All three teams in each pool will first play each other in a one-set triangular playoff, according to the attached schedule. No ties please, a winner must be determined for each set.

Then based on the outcome of the triangular, the top two teams will play each other for honor and glory in one amazing golden set final!!

The team who finishes third in the triangular will ref. All sets will be 20 min each with 5 min between sets.

Standings:

Drum roll please...... :)

Here's how it all shaped up after three weeks of ladder of play. The rank was determined by assigning points according to what position you finished in each week from 1-15, so the lower your score the better. Congratulations to Bloc Party for coming first overall in the regular season, but it's all about the finals now... :) There was a three-way tie for third place between ARU 1, Blues 1 and CVCcountymen&friends, which was broken both by wins and total points scored as shown below (both tie breaks gave the same outcome).

Place Team Total Points
1 Bloc Party 4
2 Uni Blues 2 6
3 ARU1 13
4 Uni Blues 1 13
5 CVCcountymen&Friends 13
6 Flying Rhinos 17
7 ARU2 18
8 Jumping Rhinos 26
9 CVCW1&Friends 27
10 UCC 28
11 Trinity 33
12 Darwin 37
13 Jelly Babies 38
14 CVC Beginners 43
15 ESA Flying High 44

Congratulations to everyone on a great league so far, looking forward to seeing how things go on Thursday!

Win or lose, please come celebrate another great season of volleyball and fun at the CVC End of Season (and Spring League) PARTY!! This Saturday May 24th at the Fountain, 9 pm until late. Everyone is welcome, hope to see you there!

Just let me know if you have any questions about the plan for Thursday. Good luck and have fun!!

Cheers, Bronwyn
