hi dan,

i'm sure they club will agree.

if you're coming to the tourney then we'll be needing the nets from about midday sat.  another option is to get it to adrian who's car is currently the collecting spot and mode of transport to the rugby club for most of or our nets.

Adrian,

Are you looking after the beach nets etc. for the tournament? Happy for mine to be used so long as it comes back in one piece. Being a bit legalistic can someone from the tournament committee confirm that they will take responsibility for this and pay for repairs / replacement if needed? (I know this is a bit difficult but also know nets get damaged and bits go missing very easily + I spend too much of my life reviewing contracts!)

Thanks,

Dan

We may have enough for two nets, especially if another person or two pipes up.  Please do let know if you are thinking of coming as I want to have an idea of the number of nets to bring.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS ABOUT THE CAMBRIDGE VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT (THIS WEEKEND!)

-          If you have a net.. Massimo… Kamil… Dan.. anybody else..  if possible can we please borrow it potentially for the tournament.  Not clear if all will be used, but I can put them in my car and we will have them just in case.

-          6s matches are being played on SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. If you wish to play 6s and don’t have a team, there MAY be slots for you. Just show up and hang around and make yourself known.

-          IMPORTANT: Contrary to a notion circulating on JGs, it seems that 2s matches are ALSO being played on SATURDAY AND SUNDAY (at least, per Jean).   If you are interested in playing 2s at the tournament, given the large number of 6s teams that have now signed up (40+) and the corresponding likely high demand for 2s places, it makes a lot of sense to sign up for one of the very limited 2s slots as early as possible on Saturday.

-          Even if you cannot spare the time to formally be in the tournament, if you want to just play 2s as per usual on Jesus Green, just stop by the tournament (Tina!).  The 2s nets are largely unused while the 6s tournament goes on, and we can play there informally.     I know I’m always keen.  Just show up!

-          First timers:  there is typically food being sold there (and I think it supports CVC, so buy buy buy!), but it makes sense to bring drink, a sweatshirt or other clothes for when you are not playing if it gets windy/rainy/cold, chairs/picnic stuff if you fancy, and so forth.

-          Help SET UP AND TAKE DOWN!  if you are there and see people you know setting up nets and running other errands, please by all means pitch in.  By this point in the summer many of you are experts in putting up and taking down the 2s nets, and so your expertise will surely come in handy.   Depending on the weather, 2s nets might have to come down Saturday night only to be put back up Sunday morning.    Jean and Rolf in particular are set up heroes, so if you see them doing something and muttering under their breaths, please use your initiative and pitch in.

-          FAMILY FRIENDLY – the place is family friendly.  Children and partners are welcome.

-          PARTY!  Saturday night there is a big party at the venue.  All are welcome!    Deepest apologies if I have this wrong, but I believe that Els and Bronwyn are deeply involved in the setup of this.  If and as such, I’m sure it will be awesome.

-          VENUE: the volleyball tournament is being held at the CAMBRIDGE RUGBY GROUNDs, technically known as “Volac Park”.  This is a 5 minute walk from Wolfson college.  Do not confuse it with the university rugby pitch on the Grange road.

Uhm ok I have a net, let me know what to do with it.
Cycling all the way to the rugby club is a bit of a hassle, if you can pick it up by car that would be great :)
