Hi all,

I have attached the PDF document containing the list of 20 candidates who have submitted proposals and committed to completing a test task. Unfortunately, Syed Bariman Jan, who had 3 PRs merged, missed the deadline and could not participate in the official GSoC this year. I would like to express my gratitude to all individuals who submitted PRs; you are already valuable open-source contributors. The CVAT.ai team released a new version of CVAT last week: https://github.com/cvat-ai/cvat/releases/tag/v2.11.3. Some of your contributions have been included in this release. Congratulations to all of us!

If you are not on the list below but wish to continue contributing, you are more than welcome! We are considering inviting the most talented student for an internship outside of the official GSoC 2024 program. We will also provide some compensation to the selected student. Let's try to identify a truly dedicated and talented student who is not part of GSoC 2024.

All candidates listed below will be sent several online tests from the TestDome platform (one for JS and one for Python). Kindly complete them. We aim to gather as many objective metrics as possible to accurately rank proposals and candidates on the list.

Please anticipate feedback and questions regarding your proposals in the upcoming days. We are reviewing them and looking forward to your contributions. Our current top performer is Vidit Agarwal, who has submitted 7 PRs, with 6 of them being merged. An outstanding achievement!

Dear Nikita,

I recently received the test invitation for the back-end development position. I noticed that the sample test included Python questions, but the test mail mentioned back-end development without specifying the technology.

Could you please clarify whether the test will focus solely on Python or if it will also include questions or tasks related to specific frameworks like Django? Understanding the scope of the test will help me prepare more effectively.

Thank you for your assistance. Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,
Krishav

Hi,

I will not recommend to prepare to these tests. Just complete them. The backend developer test has only questions to implement something in Python. Spend your time to contribute into CVAT project and demonstrate your skills in practice. Anybody with enough knowledge of Python should complete the test easily.
