So how about some feedback? How do you think that the CVASA should
create teams? Should we

take individual registrations and assign players to teams randomly
take individual registrations and attempt to create equally talented
teams
allow teams for form on their own
or something else

I would say take individual registrations and attempt to create
equally talented teams and also allow players to form their own teams
as well...

Whatever the outcome of this, I think it is important to keep the
option of registering together. This is in the interest of growing
the league--I got a friend to register last fall with the promise we
could play together. This arrangement makes it easier to convince new
people to sign up.

I agree that it does help recruit people if you can play with your
buddies...BUT, I just joined the CVASA last year and was placed on a
team of people that had never played together before and were mostly
new to the league and we basically got smoked all season because we
were playing teams that had played together previously. So, it helps
and it hurts because if someone wasn't gung ho about soccer they might
not come out again because it's no fun to get smoked every week.
Maybe the resolution is - if you are NEW to the league and you have
been recruited by someone, they should be allowed to play together,
but if you have played in the league previously - the talent should be
divided up evenly.

My thoughts.

I agree with Eric. It is more fun to be in competitive games wth people you may have just met than to rout or be routed with people you know well.
