at 2AM Eastern time.

Heard from news that...

Sandy is causing lot of destruction.. in the east coast - more than 15 deaths, levees broke. 3 towns flooded heavily in NJ, Storm surges of over 15 feet (more than any meteorologist predicted), subways flooded with no hope for train traffic for atleast 4 days, More than 8 million people without power, Stock markets closed on a second working day in a row (this happened back in 1885), huge blow to US and Global economies running into holiday season. Initial estimates of loss more than $20B. Let all of us pray to Almighty to give all the strength to people who are doing the rescuing operation and get this huge devastation under control.

Just now took a quick tour of exterior of my home and found everything intact externally and hope internally it is fine. Left voice & text message to Suresh and not heard back from them. I hope they are doing fine but I will keep trying until I hear back from them. Regards, Ananth

Hi Praveen,

 

We are all doing fine and survived hurricane on Monday night. We had power outage for about 24 hours and didn’t had any problems to survive as it was not that cold on Monday night and Tuesday morning. Complete Transit system was shut down for last three days and couldn’t get to work from past three days. Today Vani and I drove into city to work place. It looks like it’s going to take another couple of weeks to bring the transit system back to normal. We are finding other alternatives to commute to work. Kid’s don’t have school for the whole week.

 

I am so sorry I couldn’t check my office emails as BlackBerry was not charged and also was coordinating to accommodate some friends as they didn’t had power and was busy with all this stuff.

Not sure, where Himabindu lives. Hope she is not in the path of Sandy.
