The Human Rights Council will be holding an interactive panel on the
rights of persons with disabilities today, focusing on national
monitoring
(3 pm, Geneva time).

Attached and below are the aims of this session and the list of
speakers.

Aims and Objectives• Enhance understanding of the rationale and
content of article 33 of the CRPD on national implementation and
monitoring;• Explore good practices in the implementation of such
article, identify legal and other measures required and reflect on
potential obstacles to effective implementation at national level;•
Reflect on the role of civil society in the functioning of such
mechanisms, and identify lessons that could assist national
implementation.
