Fulton County Arts Council Presents Tour de 29 Festival
The Fulton County Arts Council Presents Tour de 29
The Fulton County Arts Council will host a festival featuring
community partners and arts and culture of South Fulton.
Fulton County District 7 Commissioner William “Bill” Edwards invites
all residents of and visitors to South Fulton to participate in the
fifth annual “Tour de 29” festival, celebrating life along one of
Fulton County’s oldest thoroughfares.
Come along and join in on the fun as you take the Tour de 29, a
celebration of South Fulton along Hwy. 29 and discover your new
favorite part of town!
The festival will take place September through October with a variety
of activities. The Fulton County Arts Council has planned the two
month-long “Tour de 29” festival in collaboration with the cities of
College Park, East Point, Fairburn, Palmetto Union City, Hapeville,
Chattahoochee Hills, South Fulton businesses and community
organizations.
Highway 29 is also known as Lee Street in the city of Atlanta; Main
Street in East Point, College Park and Palmetto; Roosevelt Highway in
Union City; and West Broad Street in Fairburn. The highway became
known as “Roosevelt Highway” after President Franklin D. Roosevelt
regularly traveled down that road to his part-time home in Warm
Springs.
Many of the “Tour de 29” activities are FREE, and many are suited
toward families with children. A full “Tour de 29” schedule is
attached and can be accessed via the web at
