Another small group I offer in addition to Lunch Bunch is my Families in Transition (FIT) group. FIT groups are for students who are facing or have faced transitions in their home lives, such as divorce/separation, an absent or incarcerated parent, death of a family member, or moving. I started running these groups last year with 5th and 6th grade students, and this year I will be offering them to 3rd and 4th grade students as well.
Each FIT group met once a week for 6-8 weeks depending on group needs. Groups were scheduled so that students do not miss any core classes or recess, and typically they met during Library or Computer class. All of my small group sessions take place in my office. Thank goodness I have enough space to run groups! See my Office Tour post for more info.
Through our innovative research and program partnerships, and with the support of neighbors and organizations nationwide, we are shattering the barriers of isolation and alienation faced by many members of military families. We get to the root problems and find upstream solutions by building trust networks through Chapters, Outposts, and our secure digital Neighborhood. Our groundbreaking programs, such as the 4+1 Commitment: The Formula for Military Spouse Success, Nourish the Service, Support Circles, and the Do Your Part initiative, are transforming the way we tackle the challenges of frequent moves, spouse employment, and limited government support. From empowering spouse career development and caregiver support to addressing food insecurity, our initiatives are making a tangible, positive difference for military and Veteran families.
Today, Blue Star Families has more than 280,000 members and touches nearly two million military and Veteran families worldwide. Our Chapters, Outposts, and virtual programming help foster and strengthen the connections between military families and their communities, providing critical support, resources, and a sense of belonging. Our research continues to enable us to push for legislation to improve the overall quality of life for military and Veteran families and address the barriers their families face while serving.
The families of our All-Volunteer Force make unprecedented sacrifices every day to serve our country. Our mission is to ensure that wherever American military families go, they feel confident stepping into their community, a part of the advocacy processes, and that military life is fun! Alone we can do so little; but together, we can do our part in supporting and uplifting our military families, making them feel at home no matter where they are in the world.
Founded in 2009 by military spouses with you in mind, we empower military families to thrive by connecting them with their civilian neighbors - both people and organizations - to create strong communities of support.
I'm having issues with one class of casework family. The Revit default closet shelf and pole family seems to have issues finding the right host. I haven't been able to figure out what the host needs to be for these families to work correctly, consistently. In some groups, some instances of the family seem to work fine, in others when I place instances of the model group on other levels, the closet shelf and pole remains on the level of the original instance.
I have tried deleting all instances of the group to try to dissasociate the family, but this does not seem to fix the problem. After the first group is placed, all subsequent instances will be on that level. I have tried changing the work plane of the element, but this moves ALL of the instances to that level across all groups. Revit doesn't give me the option to dissassociate the family.
I have tried selecting the plane of the finish floor as the work plane (which is part of the group) but this did not fix the problem either. I tried deleting the problem elements and recreating them in the group editor in hopes it would automatically choose an appropriate, group-relative host, but this did not work.
YUP! This has been a HUGE ongoing problem for us, as well. I reported it as a bug earlier this year. It's kinda funny, because if I use the API (like a custom add-in) to place a family or group, it ALWAYS hosts to the Level (LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TOO).
Thank you for the work around. I had already given up on trying to make these elements work, so I made a new closet shelf and pole family from the default casework template, basically, a base cabinet template instead of a line-based template. I also had a line-based coat hook family that was affected by the same bug, which I remade as a furniture family (it is FF&E anyway). This seems to be working, at least for now.
I have another solution: remove the problematic elements from the group and the rehost button will now appear when you select the item. Get the item into a view where you can select the level line and then rehost it to the level. Put in back in the group and it will behave the way you want it to.
Group and residential care programs are each a type of live-in, out-of-home care placement in which staff are trained to work with children and youth. These placements offer a higher level of structure and supervision than what can be provided in a family home setting.
Group and residential programs are operated by private agencies licensed by DCYF and typically provide an array of services, including therapeutic services for children and families and educational and medical services for children or youth.

Grief and loss as it relates to family building is often not discussed, or worse, dismissed. This is particularly true for the LGBTQ+ community. This group, facilitated by an expert in the field, helps discover paths to healing and coping and more. Sessions are held monthly in 3-month cycles. Like all Rainbow Families support groups, this is a safe and welcoming space.
The DSRF Support Group is a monthly, virtual, peer-focused support group for the LGBTQ+ community who are divorced or separated. We offer a safe and comfortable environment to share our stories; available for all gender expressions, and adults with or without children.
This group meets monthly, for those in the LGBTQ+ community who are currently expecting a child (via adoption, surrogacy, pregnancy, foster, pregnancy), or new to parenthood with a child under 9 months. We offer a safe and comfortable environment to share our stories and resources during the journey of expecting a child, and the first few months of parenthood.
Introduced in 2023, Rainbow Families is honored to provide a space for our Trans and Gender Non-Conforming Parents to share, support, and learn from one another in this very special group setting. Facilitated monthly meetings will highlight some of the challenges (and joys) surrounding Trans parenting.
During each session, the group will discuss topics related to experiences in sobriety. Topics may include habits, triggers, self-care, mindfulness, negative thinking, forgiveness, and alternative sober activities.
