Hey all,

just a very quick question, would you guys consider chocolate as
product or accept request new chocolate product idea. In addition to
the recipe, i believe making the a mode is part of the production...

just a thought.

Me too!  I think that's the beauty of CUUSOO.

Lately I've been thinking about this global trade thing, how much harm it is doing to our environment... and I thought perhaps CUUSOO can help fix this in the future.

Say you created this special chocolate, perhaps you can sell directly through CUUSOO in the beginning, but let's say its shape has some special meaning to the French, and all of a sudden you get a ton on wants from France... this is where I hope CUUSOO can connect designers / inventors to local craftsmen / crafts ladies :)  In the case of chocolate, you can really imagine the French picking up the orders from CUUSOO and produce and sell to the customers in France, giving you some royalty back for your invention.  Right??

I hope the same will happen to other products, so eventually, we shift production from big manufacturers in China and other poor 3rd world countries, back to the local craftsmen everywhere.

A little too idealistic and naive, I know... but I really hope I can do something to help!

I like your idea, Nick.  However the royalty kick-back may be a wishful thinking unless Cuusoo can have a model to create a win-win situation for everyone involved.

HI all,

thanks for everyone's reply. If there is any interest, perhaps we can
start a discussion thread to brainstorm ideas and share sources of
information in regards to production... I'm thinking of starting from
exploring some of the existing products from europe particularly
France and identify something interesting and new... any other
favorite?

Best,
Shelley

When you say exploring products from France, do you mean buying chocolate from France in bulk, and then shaping them into special design?

I always think it's interesting how users use a system differently from what the system's creator intended.  Perhaps cuusoo wasn't intended for users to create and sell chocolates, but if some users want to do it, they will find a way to do it... and then what cuusoo should do is to adjust itself to suit its users' needs.  "Perpetual Beta", "Release early, release often".  So if you wanna do it, then do it.  Register at cuusoo and post your idea!  Let us know if you have trouble signing up, we can walk you through the process.

As for the money part Stephen, that's definitely a problem for cuusoo outside of Japan.  Perhaps even inside Japan, small orders will always mean people will want to bypass cuusoo and directly deal with each other... This is a problem that we'll need to address before cuusoo hits the international market!  What do you all think?

i can post the ideas on cuusoo, and just wondering if there is anyone
local interested in exploring and brainstorming.. or if anyone knows
more the making of, please let me know, thanks.

Hi all,

I'd like follow up on this thread. Actually, i think chocolate as a
product idea can be further expanded.. I think chocolate and packing
design is like another product and can be custom made. I have done
some work in sorting out the production side, but i might want to
experiment it here locally before posting in on cuusoo,
I'd like to work with another designer if anyone is interested. If
anyone has experience in sourcing packaging production, please let me
know too..

thanks.
Shelley
