The STEP UP Virtual PLC application for the 2025-26 academic school year opens February 12, 2025!
Members of the STEP UP Everyday Actions Professional Learning Community (PLC) are teachers of physics working to inspire young women to see themselves as a physics person. This community will use the updated Everyday Actions Guide create classrooms that are more welcoming, collaborative.
This application is open to individuals:
currently teaching high school physics
In undergraduate physics program interested in teaching at some point
in undergraduate physics education programs
in graduate-level physics education programs (not currently teaching in their own high school classrooms)
in alternative physics education certification programs
If accepted, teachers in this community will attend a two-day virtual Professional Learning Summit and receive a stipend. Additionally, select participants will engage in monthly professional learning.
